Things to consider – Handheld vs Wall Switch
When choosing between the different controllers, keep in mind how the controller is installed.
Handheld remote: All our RTS handheld remotes can be installed either on the wall using the installation brackets provided with the remote or can be sat on a counter, table, or other similar location. These controllers can be taken anywhere in the home to control multiple shades in different rooms.
Wall Switch: All our RTS wall switch controllers must be installed into the wall, not on the wall. These are stationary controllers that are designed to control the shades in one room at a time.
Things to consider – Individual vs Group Control
Another thing to consider is how you want to control your shade(s). Depending on how you wish your shade(s) to operate, you may or may not need a controller with multiple channels. Please note that it may be possible to have both individual and group control based on the number of shades and which remote is ordered.
Individual control: To control a shade individually, your controller will need to have a channel dedicated to each shade. Keep this in mind when selecting which controller you’re ordering because if you have more shades than channels; you won’t be able to operate them individually.
Group Control: Each remote can group any number of shades together on each channel to operate together, called a group control. You can have multiple groups on the same remote if desired.
